Last month, friends of Memorial Park gathered to recreate the opening day photo taken 100 years ago in front of the iconic Life sculpture on the banks of the St. Johns River. The event was open to the public and featured food trucks, live music, and local vendors set up in the park. Volunteers from the Memorial Park Association organized the event. It was kicked off with words from Patrick Emmet, President of the MPA, City Council Member Jimmy Peluso, JaxParks, Recreation and Community Services Director Daryl Joseph, and City Council Liaison for Mayor Donna Deegan and Author Bill Delany. Hundreds gathered to enjoy the park and to pose for a group photo by local photographer Mark Krancer
