Angus Nelson MacLean

Fireman. Enlisted in U.S. Coast Guard at Tampa on April 8, 1917. His father, John Marion MacLean (1858-1942) was a Georgia-born farmer and carpenter in Jackson County, Florida. Born November 22, 1894, Angus was one of six children, five boys and a girl. His older brother, Kenneth MacLean (1893-1983), enlisted in the Regular Army at Fort McPherson in Atlanta in July 1917 and served more than a year in France as a baker until his return home in July 1919.
