Memorial Park Association Veterans Day Remembrance

November 11, 2017 @ 5:00 am - 6:00 am

Please join the Memorial Park Association to honor all who serve, including the 1,220 Floridians who died in WWI and for which the park was built in their honor.

The Backdoor Stompers and the Riverside Presbyterian Church Choir will be performing.

The poppy has become a symbol to mark our respect for those who died during the First World War, World War II, as well as the millions of other people affected by war.

Remembrance Day, formerly called Armistice Day, was first celebrated on November 11, 1919 to honor World War I soldiers. The date was selected because it was on this day at 11:00 AM in 1918 that the Allied Nations and Germany reached a cease-fire, or Armistice, which led to the end of the Great War, as it is often called.

Please bring folding chairs or blankets.
