6th Annual Claws for a Cause Lobster Bake to benefit Memorial Park

Cool Moose Café to host intimate event March 7, 2020

Cool Moose Café owners Tony and Laurie Jarvis proudly announce that its annual Lobster Bake, “Claws for a Cause,” will be held Saturday, March 7, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the restaurant at 2708 Park Street in the historic Park & King section of Riverside.

The limited-seat event will benefit the Memorial Park Association, a nonprofit which focuses on restoring and preserving the only park in Florida which honors more than 1,600 Floridians who lost their lives in service during World War I. Laurie Jarvis, who serves on the MPA board as its secretary, said, “Claws for a Cause has become a highly anticipated spring event which we love hosting. Each year we increase our goal to raise more funds to help Memorial Park Association enhance, promote and preserve Memorial Park as the premier historic park in the City of Jacksonville.”

The event includes a cocktail hour, silent auction and choice of entrée (Maine Lobster, Marinated Steak Tips or Eggplant Parmesan) as well as clam chowder, steamers, mussels, corn, potatoes and a “made-from-scratch” dessert. Seating is limited to 75 guests but the Cool Moose is also offering a $65 to-go option with order pick-up from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m. that evening. Seating tickets are $80 per person and can be purchased on Eventbrite, or by calling the café at (904) 504-5539.

The silent auction will include a variety of interesting items, including baskets themed for spa, sports, dog lovers, wine, and many others. Sponsorships are available at three levels and include tickets to the events. Contact Laurie Jarvis for sponsorship details.
