As second phase of Memorial Park restoration ends, contractor gives back
Jacksonville, Fla. December 2, 2016 On Tuesday, November 22, at 1:30 P.M., after the completion of the restoration of the center oval green, members of the Memorial Park Association and officials from the City of Jacksonville met in Memorial Park with Chuck Chaon, Jayson Smith and Matthew Bratcher, representatives of J. B. Coxwell Contracting, Inc., who presented the MPA with a check for $30,000.
The second phase of restoration in the park began September 26th, after J.B. Coxwell Contracting, Inc. was awarded the $283,000 contract to install a new irrigation system, improve drainage and amend the soil. J. B. Coxwell Contracting, Inc. planned to donate back a percentage of their fee and after coming in under budget, awarded the gift to Agnes Danciger, MPAs board president.
Agnes Danciger said, This is the largest corporate or individual gift made to Memorial Park Association since its founding 30 years ago. We are extremely grateful as it will help fund additional needs as outlined in The Master Plan which was adopted in 2012 to restore the park.
The fencing around the center oval green is scheduled to be removed sometime in February after the grass has taken root.
