Experience the Glow of Luminaria at Memorial Park

Volunteers needed to set the scene December 15

Luminaria Night in Memorial Park will kick off with a merry band of volunteers who will set up luminaria around the park on Sunday, Dec. 15, 1-3 p.m. Immediately following distribution and lighting of the luminaria, the Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department will bring a fire truck (3-5 p.m.). Beginning at 4 p.m., Santa and Mrs. Claus will invite children to share their holiday wish lists while a trackless train offers rides to youngsters, who will also enjoy cotton candy, and parents will enjoy holiday music provided by West Riverside Elementary Chorus and violin ensemble. Activities end at 6 p.m. to allow park visitors to enjoy Riverside Avondale Preservation’s 35th Annual Luminaria Night throughout the historic district.
